Healthy and Delicious Guacamole Recipe

Let me start off by saying that my mum makes the best guacamole ever (at least in my opinion)! So today I have taken her recipe and tweaked it a little bit to make it even more healthy. It is a really simple recipe and quick to make. This dip is creamy and packed full of flavour.

Everybody has their own take on guacamole. The recipe I based this version on used sour cream, I decided to take out the cream and use reduced fat Greek yoghurt. The reason behind this swap is because the reduced fat Greek yoghurt has significantly less saturated fat, but still has a similar tangy, creamy flavour. Any time you can save yourself the extra kilojoules why not.

Most people know that avocado is full of unsaturated fats that are really good for your body. Did you know that avocados are technically considered a fruit? Not many people know that 1 serve of avocado is 1/4 of the whole fruit. Most people go a little overboard on the avo, remember everything in moderation.

I like to take this to work as a dip for carrot sticks. You could spread it on your sandwiches, use it as a side for your favourite Mexican food, use it as a dressing for a salad or even dip your rice paper rolls in it. The possibilities are endless.
