Healthy Snack Ideas

Today my aim is to give you lots and lots of healthy snack ideas. When picking a snack you want to choose something that is nutritious and satisfying. It should come from the 5 core food groups (vegetables, fruit, grains, dairy and meat) and not be too high in sugar or saturated fats.

Here are a few healthy snack recipes already up on Nutrition Insight.

When purchasing snacks make sure you are looking at the nutrition labels to ensure they are a healthy choice (use this pocket nutrition guide to help you).I also believe that snacks shouldn't always be complicated so most of these ideas are really simple. Remember that too much of anything isn't good for you so keep serving sizes small.
